Chauncy Vale Family Day

Nan Chauncy

Join us on Sunday 5th February at the Chauncy Vale Family Day for our first activity for 2012.

Bring a picnic lunch or use the BBQ facilities. Refreshments will be available to purchase.

The Family Day starts at noon. Guided walks will commence at 1.30pm. CBCA members will read excerpts from They found a Cave.

Other Family day activities include an art auction, the children’s discovery track and a chance to visit Day Dawn – the home of Nan Chauncy. Chauncy won the Children's Book of the Year award three times: in 1958 for Tiger in the Bush, in 1959 for Devil's Hill, and in 1961 for Tangara. She was the first Australian author to win a Hans Christian Andersen Award diploma of merit.
